Reflection on Today's Verse
The believer’s identity is no longer found in the flesh, but in the Spirit. We do not belong to Christ because of outward religion, personal strength, or human effort. We belong to Him because the Spirit of God dwells in us.
This is a strong comfort. The Christian life is not about improving the old flesh until it becomes acceptable to God. The flesh can never produce righteousness before Him. But in Christ, God has given the believer a new standing, a new life, and a sure possession through His Spirit. Our confidence is not in what we can do for God, but in what God has already done for us in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the life and standing You have given me in Christ. Thank You that I am not left to depend on my flesh, my own strength, or my own understanding. Help me to walk with confidence in the truth that I belong to Christ and that Your Spirit dwells in me.
Teach me to rest in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and keep my heart from trusting in self-effort or outward religion. May my life be guided by Your truth, strengthened by Your grace, and anchored in who I am in Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
