Reflection on Today's Verse
God’s word is not just ordinary advice, religious opinion, or human encouragement. It is truth from God.
When the Thessalonians heard the message preached by Paul, they received it with faith. They did not treat it as the word of men, but as the word of God. That is why it worked effectually in them.
The same is true for the believer today. God’s word strengthens the heart, renews the mind, corrects our thinking, and keeps us grounded in grace. We do not stand by feelings, traditions, or performance. We stand by the truth of God’s word and the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
When we believe what God has spoken, His word continues to work in us.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your word. Help me to receive it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God.
Let Your word work effectually in my heart. Strengthen my faith, renew my mind, and keep me grounded in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Teach me to trust Your truth more than my feelings, more than man’s opinion, and more than my own understanding. May my confidence always rest in Your word and in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
