Reflection on Today's Verse
When you mess up, the natural instinct is to “pay it back” with extra effort—more rules, more promises, more religious hustle. But this verse cuts straight through that: you are not justified by what you do, but by Christ. That means your peace with God doesn’t rise and fall with your performance. The law can point out your need, but it can’t fix it. Jesus did. So today, if you feel unworthy, don’t run from God—run to the finished work that already made you accepted.
Personal Prayer
Father, I thank thee that my standing with thee is not by the works of the law, but by faith in thy Son. When my heart condemns me, turn mine eyes again unto Christ, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Keep me from trusting in myself, and teach me to rest in thy grace. Let my life flow from gratitude, not fear, and from faith, not striving. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
